Some complex parts do not allow the placement of classical infrared modules to maintain the effectiveness of infrared radiation. The solution lies in custom 3D infrared emitters.
The 3D special infrared emitters are designed specifically to follow the geometry of the part, enabling precise, localized heating of small surfaces or special shapes without energy loss. The radiation is distributed over the target area with a regular level of power.
A gold or ceramic reflective coating integrated into the emitter concentrates the radiation on the valuable surface. This avoids the need for bulky metal reflectors, which are often unsuitable for confined or /and curved spaces. The reflective layer can be selectively applied along the length of the custom 3D emitter to match the specific shape or zone to be heated.
Currently, 3D infrared lamps - short wave or fast medium wave emitters – are mainly used for plastic part heating, localized welding, or adhesive activation. However, there is no real limit to their use. As usual, the best approach is to consult CSI team to define the most efficient solution for your application.
